Fairmont Gold is the next level of hospitality: a dedicated space in many of the hotels, featuring elevated guest room design and a fully staffed Fairmont Gold residents-only lounge.

Fairmont was the first luxury hotel brand to provide guests with Reebok workout apparel, footwear and yoga equipment through Fairmont Fit. 

In addition to airline/credit card partners, the brand offer guests exclusive partnerships to enhance their lifestyle: Le Labo in-room amenities, Fairmont Fit (with Reebok), BMW vehicles and bikes, and spirits partners Rémy Cointreau and Möet & Hennessy 

Fairmont takes local partnerships and social responsibility seriously. The colleagues contribute nearly 15,000 volunteer hours annually, and the Fairmont Sustainability Partnership has been described by National Geographic Traveler as "the most comprehensive environmental program in the North American hotel industry.”  In 2015 the brand became the first hotel company to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% as part of the WWF Climate Savers Program.

In 1907, history was made when The Fairmont San Francisco, Nob Hill's grand dame, opened its doors. The iconic hotel soon became the city's venue of choice for glittering balls, presidential visits and political gatherings, making the name Fairmont synonymous with “place of occasion". With this auspicious beginning, the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts brand was born.  Fairmont properties are home to history, playing a starring role in many moments that have held the world's attention. In 1945, the UN Charter was drafted in the Garden Room at The Fairmont San Francisco and signed by 50 countries. In 1961, Tony Bennett first sang “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” in the Venetian Room at Fairmont San Francisco.


"Since we can't export the scenery, we'll have to import the tourists." Fairmont Banff Springs is an internationally recognized symbol of Canadian hospitality. William Cornelius Van Horne, general manager of the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) has been credited with recognizing the tourism potential of the Canadian west. To enhance traffic on the CPR, he envisioned a succession of lavish resort hotels along the railway line through the Rocky and Selkirk Mountains. Now a National Historic Site of Canada and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Fairmont Banff Springs continues to cater to travelers from all around the world.


The term ‘American Bar’ refers to a bar serving mixed or ‘American’ style drinks, more commonly known as cocktails. As transatlantic travel became more popular in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries, many American Bars opened throughout London. The American Bar at The Savoy, A Fairmont Managed Hotel, is the longest surviving of these bars and one of the most iconic cocktail bars in the world. It was also the winner of Best International Bar Team 2016 at Tales of the Cocktail.
